I have had the deep pleasure of working with a woman who has taught me a LOT about spiritual progress, process … and Dutch Chocolate! Lol!

Seriously, this woman, named Janneke, has been blessedly partnering with me for almost a year now — and has blatantly and bravely delved into deeper and deeper layers of her FEAR to the point where now? She has so much spiritual growth!

I mean, I think, of all the people I have ever had the privilege to work with, HER story is one of the “tops,” if you are looking at it from a point of trauma. SO many deep hurts and hard words in her past — and her recent present — all lead her to be full of stress, confusion, chaos and, you guessed it, ANXIETY.

But what made the woman change so much of her heart, soul and brain was her willingness — and commitment — to DO whatever GOD’s Word said to DO.

Now, of course, that sounds simple and easy — and like the obvious solution. But when you have a deep, deep story, are in much pain and can see the “faces” in your past and present that have “clearly caused it,” you can become “humanly hinged” to THEM changing and fixing things!

You can see the “solution” so clearly — and just “know in your soul” that if you can make them SEE it too? THAT is what will bring relief and peace to you.

And yet? Here is a big fat truth:

You cannot control other people.

You can only control YOU.

And what you choose to DO.

And that’s where Janneke has become “Quite the Queen” — in deeply listening to one voice and one voice only:

Jesus Christ, her GOD and KING.

And doing the things that BRING peace and growth in her soul and seeing life through her  “spiritual role.”

And so, she has moved towards so many things that seem opposite of her “original solution.” 

She has looked inward, to HER heart, and sought the PART that it unintentionally played in the damage and chaos.

She has looked for the lies inside her HEAD and used courage to push against them instead.

And she has prayed, a most beautiful, humble heart prayer, and it goes like this:

“GOD help me to see what needs to be changed … in … ME.”

And you know what has happened to her soul?

It

Has

GROWN.

And she is now sitting in a place of being far less in pain, way more in peace — and can maybe start to see on the horizon a new season of helping others with her story.

For

GOD’S

Glory.

I read in Luke today where Jesus prayed to “take away the coming crucifixion — and yet? Not HIS will but GOD’S be done.” I read how HIS being obedient to GOD’S voice WAS the best choice — even when it hurt to go into that —- and yet? OH, what amazing results and HOLY IMPACT.

And that is what Janneke did too.

And maybe that choice will speak to you.

Because I know it did to me.

Thank you, Janneke, for being a true Lord-led leader in your actions, soul and prayers.
